Discussion about German Oak - German Oak

German Oak - The Third Reich With out a doubt, a great album, with some definite gothic-industrial under tones, but much more 'Prog-Rock' instrumentation thrown in for very good measure, it is early 1970's after all. Classed by many under the banner heading of 'kraut-rock' ...This its not what comes to my mind when I think of K-Rock. But for the ones that feel the need to give something a label, I would be more inclined to use the 'Prog-Rock' one, as I feel it holds up better, with "Raid over Dusseldorf" falling right into this camp and being one of the high points of the album IMO, closely followed by "The Third Reich" which is the name I have always been told is of this album. I have been lucky enough to have had my copy of this for quite some time, and I still think it sounds as good now as the first time I heard it. As for my review, I think that Julian Cope has done a much better one than I, here is a link, but as these are not allowed all I can say is try the site www headheritage co uk (unsung/albumofthemonth/290#) looking for the album of the month number 290.
